She's starred in many a tearjerker. But the course of her real-life marriage would put any script to shame. Or so it would appear from the allegations levelled by Karisma Kapoor.

The Bollywood actress has accused husband Sunjay Kapur of "deserting her", following which she was "compelled" to leave Delhi at a time when she was pregnant.

The couple's five-month-old daughter, Samaira, was born in Mumbai and has since been in Karisma's care.

The actress' reply to Sunjay's petition - which challenged the issuance of a passport to their daughter without his permission - was filed in the Delhi High Court on Friday. The affidavit refutes all allegations levelled by her estranged husband. The document indicates the extent to which relations have soured between the duo. Karisma has accused Sunjay of voluntarily opting for US citizenship and suppressing the fact that he is not an Indian citizen.

Karisma submitted before the court that her "disgruntled husband" was indulging in a "crude attempt to urge and seek redress of matrimonial issues... by using this minor as a pawn".
